SUMMARY:Playground: Sharing-Nomadic Solidarity Residency
DESCRIPTION:In February the Playground will be hosting two artists as part of our Nomadic Solidarity program. As a continuation of the NOT-residency program\, which was initiated by Anna Konjetzky/Playground in February 2022 in response to the war in Ukraine. We are continuing and expanding the residency program under the name Nomadic Solidarity\, exploring ourselves how we can put in place these solidarity programs\, what is needed/wanted\, in order to offer aid to other artists in need due to the political situations in their countries.\n\n\nWe are excited to welcome two artists to this context in February 2024\, Petra Serhal (Lebanon) who will be live in Munich and Sara Mikolai (Sri Lanka) who will be participating online.\n\nWe are pleased to invite you to join us on the 19th of Feb for a Sharing and discussion with the two artists at 7pm\, at the conclusion of their residencies.\n\nlanguage English/ entry is free\nRegister at playground@annakonjetzky.com

DESCRIPTION:Join us on the 1st of February for a Gathering with deufert&plischke where they share their work of AnArchive in a casual setting.\n7-8.30pm \n\n„Since 2005\, AnArchives have been created alongside our artistic work as open collections of traces of our circular work processes. The aim is to make these available again and again so that colleagues and friends can rearrange them and show us what we cannot do with them The term „AnArchive“ is a play on words between „anarchy“ and „archive“ and expresses an artistic documentation and collection practice that creates living archives (see also anarchivTANZ: https://anarchiv-tanz.net/ ).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n»Body as AnArchive« takes up this approach\, focusing on the relationship between the imaginary\, which constitutes a fundamental aspect of human subjectivity\, and our body perception. In psychoanalysis (Lacan)\, the realm of the imaginary is an integral part of the constitution of the self and its interaction with the world. It communicates through images and is at the same time a hub of our memories and experiences. And our research about our “bodies as an archive” is about interaction with the world. While somatic practice is often introverted and attempts to sensitize body perception through anatomical visualizations (meridian system\, chakras\, sacrospinal system\, etc.)\, “Body as AnArchive” is about social perception of the world\, i.e. interaction with other people\, memories and things.\n\n»Body as AnArchive« is an open format between workshop\, conversation and social choreography.”\n\n\n\nFree Entry\, please register at playground@annakonjetzky.com

DESCRIPTION:GATHERING with Jonathan Burrows ( Rethinking choreography)\nTuesday 9th of January 2024 . 7-8:30pm\nPlayground Studio / Dachauer Straße 112d\, München (Halle 6)\n\nJonathan Burrows shares some of his recent reflections on why people like to choreograph\, and when choreography might be useful or not. The talk draws from his recent book Writing Dance (Varamo Press\, 2022)\, and from his current research with the dramaturge and theorist Bojana Cvejić on the relationship between sequenced movement and human perception. \nJonathan Burrows danced for 13 years with the Royal Ballet in London\, during which time he also began performing regularly with experimental choreographer Rosemary Butcher. He has since created an internationally acclaimed body of performance work including The Stop Quartet (1996) and Weak Dance Strong Questions (with Jan Ritsema\, 2001)\, as well as his long series of collaborations with composer Matteo Fargion including Both Sitting Duet (2002)\, The Quiet Dance (2005)\, Speaking Dance (2006)\, Cheap Lecture (2009)\, The Cow Piece (2009)\, Body Not Fit For Purpose (2014) and Rewriting (2021). Burrows is a founder visiting member of faculty at P.A.R.T.S Belgium and has for many years been a regular collaborator for Jonzi D’s Back To The Lab hip hop theatre mentoring project at Breakin‘ Convention\, Sadler’s Wells London. Each card is an invitation to a particular score. They move between five different zones: queering\, rewriting \,caring\, sensitising\, and decentralising. These zones fluidly overlap and intersect as do the colours on the cards.\nThe card set project began in 2022 in the frame of the Connecting Communities project from Aktion Tanz and is a collaboration between the dance artists Sahra Huby\, Carolin Jüngst\, Anna Konjetzky and Quindell Orton.\nAnna Konjetzky und Co keeps developping the scores cards as a changing\, living archive.\nThe new version printed in 2023 is now available and can be ordered by sending an email to: projects@nomadic-ak.com

DESCRIPTION:Gathering with Barbara Raes.\n\nFrom 2000-2014\, Barbara worked as a programmer and artistic director of Arts Centres BUDA and Vooruit. In 2014\, she said goodbye to the arts sector and took a year to recharge and reorient. In that context\, she trained as a facilitator of farewell rituals at Green Fuse in Totnes (UK). She also attended additional workshops around transition as well as shaping life and death. As a result\, she has become a unique connector between art/care/farewells.\n\nFrom 2015 to 2018\, she worked as a researcher at KASK\, School of Arts\, where she designed new physical and mental spaces for farewell. Simultaneously\, she founded Beyond the Spoken\, a private practice where she guides people in their grieving process by creating and facilitating a unique farewell ritual for them. Her rituals are known for their artistic\, co-creative and sustainable touch. Barbara views creating rituals as part of a larger transition movement and a broader social story. What we do for ourselves invariably also affects our relationship with our loved ones\, society and all living creatures.\n\nIn her lecture Barbara will guide you through her method of creating farewell rituals. Obwohl sich die beiden Personen nicht gegenseitig in die Augen schauen können\, scheinen sie in Verbindung miteinander zu sein. Sie bewegen sich aufeinander zu\, voneinander weg\, umeinander herum und führen einen Dialog auf Bewegungsebene. Was macht ihre (un-)sichtbare Verbindung aus? \nIn der Virtual Reality Tanz Performance „I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE“ entsteht mit und vor dem Publikum ein nonverbaler Dialog durch Bewegung\, Zeichnung und Imagination. Pro Vorstellung können vier Besucher*innen über das Kontaktmedium Virtual Reality spielerisch mit der realen Tänzer*in in Dialog treten: Zusammen zeichnen sie raumgreifende\, virtuelle Bewegungsskulpturen – einzigartige Spuren einer einmaligen Begegnungs-Choreografie. Als Initiator der #ArtOfCoding Kampagne gelingt es ihm 2021 mit der Demoscene – einer Kultur der digitalen Echtzeitanimationen – die erste digitale Kultur überhaupt als immaterielles UNESCO-Kulturerbe in Deutschland anerkennen zu lassen. Als Choreografin gestaltet sie spartenübergreifende Performance-Projekte\, die Tanz in Auseinandersetzung mit digitalen Medien (Video\, Virtual Reality und Fotografie) zeigen. Seit über 10 Jahren bringt sie ihren medienchoreographischen Ansatz in Projektarbeit\, Lehrtätigkeiten und internationalen Forschungsaufenthalten in Austausch und Reflexion. Eine enge künstlerische Kollaboration verbindet Anna-Carolin Weber mit dem Games- und Digitalexperten Tobias Kopka/Curatomic. \nDie Arbeit von Tobias Kopka/Curatomic (Köln) als Kurator\, Programmleiter und Vermittler davon angetrieben ist\, Menschen an ihren Wissens- und Erfahrungsgrenzen in Austausch zu bringen. Als Initiator der #ArtOfCoding Kampagne gelingt es ihm 2021 mit der Demoscene – einer Kultur der digitalen Echtzeitanimationen – die erste digitale Kultur überhaupt als immaterielles UNESCO-Kulturerbe in Deutschland anerkennen zu lassen. Mit seinem Label Curatomic produziert er Ausstellungen welche kreativ und interdisziplinär mit Games\, Videographie und Virtual Reality arbeiten. 2012-2020 leitende Tätigkeiten im Bereich Kuration und Programmentwicklung bei führenden Video-Spiel-Konferenzen in Europa und Kanada. \n\nDie Produktion „I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE – Duette für einen Kopf und zwei Hände“ (2022) wird gefördert durch die Beauftragte der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien im Programm NEUSTART KULTUR\, Hilfsprogramm tanz:digital des Dachverband Tanz Deutschland.
