World Wo*men – EXHIBITION

AkademieGalerie München U-Bahnhof Universität, UG, Ausgang, Akademiestraße, München, München, Bayern, Germany

In 2021 during the early days of the global COVID 19 pandemic, German artist Mirella Oestreicher initiated an art project that began with a question. What is the meaning of Family in 100 years? She decided to explore her idea collaboratively with an Iranian artist named Pooyan Bagherzadeh and ask this same question in a society like Iran, alongside the German community Extensive research was conducted on the concept of family, and a total of 16 interviews were conducted with individuals who had interesting lives and diverse experiences in both Iran and Germany. These engaging conversations delved into various layers of life and personal identity in these two countries and explored the concept of family and different ways of living in them.
But this journey is far from over In 2024 we're embarking on an exciting new chapter as we set our sights on the Land of the Rising Sun Japan A nation with a rich tapestry of culture and family systems that are both unique and deeply ingrained in the daily lives of its people.
