Liebe Stromsparende, Mülltrennende und Welt-Verbrauchende,
Am 22. April ist der Tag der Erde. Der Earth Overshoot Day – also der Zeitpunkt im Jahr, an dem wir rechnerisch alle natürlichen Ressourcen verbraucht haben, die die Erde innerhalb eines Jahres erneuern kann, ist in Deutschland mittlerweile schon Anfang Mai.
Nachhaltigkeit beschäftigt uns am PATHOS schon eine Weile – mit Klimabilanzen, dem Klimafolgekosten-Ticket, einer laufenden Gemeinwohl-Bilanzierung. Wir sind mitten im Prozess.
Unser Mini Festival Overshoot & Out vom 28. April bis 1. Mai ist also kein Abschlussbericht, sondern eine Einladung mitzudenken und mitzumachen.Den Auftakt macht DAS GRÜNE DACH, unser offener Nachhaltigkeits-Brunch für die Kulturbranche, ein Format, das wir 2025 als Klima-Aperitif ins Leben gerufen haben und das seither immer größer wird. Der wunderbare Musiker Mathias Götz / Le Millipede stellt mit Radical Hope ein neues Album vor: eine musikalische Auseinandersetzung mit ökologischer Verantwortung, inspiriert von seiner Wurmkiste und Denker*innen wie James Lovelock und Joanna Macy. Am frühen Morgen des 1. Mai nimmt Mathias uns dann mit zu einer Vogelwanderung durch den Olympiapark, bevor wir am Abend die erste Festival Ausgabe mit Natur-Literatur von Sophia Klink und Tom Holland beschließen.

Dear energy-savers, waste-sorters and global consumers,
22 April is Earth Day. Earth Overshoot Day – the point in the year when, mathematically speaking, we have used up all the natural resources that the Earth can renew within a year – now falls in early May in Germany.
Sustainability has been on our minds at PATHOS for some time now – through carbon accounting, the climate cost ticket, and an ongoing common good balance assessment.We are right in the middle of the process.
Our mini-festival Overshoot & Out, running from 28 April to 1 May, is therefore not a final report, but an invitation to join and get involved. We kick things off with DAS GRÜNE DACH, our open sustainability brunch for the cultural sector – a format we launched in 2025 as a ‘climate aperitif’ and which has been growing ever since. The wonderful musician Mathias Götz / Le Millipede presents a new album, Radical Hope: a musical exploration of ecological responsibility, inspired by thinkers such as James Lovelock and Joanna Macy. Early on the morning of 1 May, Mathias will then take us on a birdwatching walk through the Olympiapark, before we round off the first festival edition in the evening with nature literature by Sophia Klink and Tom Holland.
